Footprints of Care: Varun Hiremath Brings Smiles and Shoes to Rural Kids in Maharashtra
The joy of the children glowed on the village of Nitlas, near Panvel. They are happy because of no other than our visionary leader, Varun Hiremath. Varun has made a wise step of presenting the students with a pair of new shoes through his Hiremath Family Foundation, in order that the students may no longer have to go to school barefooted. It was done at Raigad Zilla Parishad Prathmik School in which the students were enlightened to receive a new pair of shoes.
Varun explained that walking barefoot to school does not only attract dust, it also makes them feel they are always being ignored. These two new shoes will provide them with a new identity, creating some hopes and also motivating them to work towards a greater future.

This project provided the students with a decent life. Two students were very proud. One grinned at his reflection, like it was a great achievement, and a 10 years old student treasured them like they were gold and he vowed to take great care.
Varun and his Hiremath Family Foundation have outdone themselves by empowering rural people in terms of health and education. Today, those who used to be overlooked and lacked opportunities, have now become independent and are living a dignified life. Also, they have upgraded themselves in terms of digital literacy.
This shows that Varun Hiremath believes in action rather than words. No matter how busy he is, he keeps himself updated with the needs of the rural people and accordingly works towards their development. This thinking of Varun not only makes him a responsible person, but has shaped him into a true leader.
