Zirad Shoe Donation Drive: Varun Hiremath and Hiremath Family Foundation Gift New Shoes to Raigad ZP Primary School Students

It may not only take a day but weeks of a child to turn around after a little gesture. And that is what happened to Zirad where a normal school morning became a memorable thing.
The students will be bringing with them under the social responsibility of the Hiremath Family Foundation, a new pair of shoes was also given to every student of the Raigad Zila Parishad Primary School, Zirad. Varun Hiremath headed the distribution and spent time with the children gave them the shoes personally and addressed them with kindness and encouragement.
Why a Pair of Shoes Matters
In most of the rural areas, walking long distances on the dust roads to reach school is the order of the day. A lot of children do so without having shoes. For them, shoes are not a small thing. They are synonyms of comfort, protection and self-respect. Varun Hiremath said a child that has a feeling of protection walks with confidence and communicating with the students. When even some simple object like shoes can help them to walk easier in their everyday life, then it is not charity. It’s our responsibility."
The Community Stood Together
The event saw strong support from the village. Leaders, teachers, parents, and local residents came together at the school, including:

- Former Deputy Sarpanch Mahesh Mane
- Teachers of Zirad Primary School
- Parents and villagers from the area
Sarpanch Chotam Sheth, the spokesperson of the village, expressed grateful words: “We are indeed grateful to Varun Hiremath and the Hiremath family that they cared about children. This little gesture makes every home happy and helps our students to get to school knowing that they will be happy and excited to do so.
The day was characterized by teachers as very emotional. A great number of the children had on their shoes immediately ran over the school and was proud to show them among friends.
“Smiles brightened the whole school”, One teacher said.
The learning materials and sports equipment have been aided by the Hiremath family in the past. The current gesture is an addition to the continued care.

The Hiremath Family Foundation is distinguished by the work that remains genuine and true-to-heart grounded. No grand show. No loud promises. Just steady support, reaching people where it matters most.
“We don’t focus on numbers,” Hiremath shared.
“We focus on the lives we can touch.”
The Foundation has over the years assisting schools in Raigad by:

- Sports equipment
- Hygiene essentials
- Basic infrastructure support
In 2026, the Foundation will spread its school support program to additional villages in areas where children continue to struggle with basic needs.
More Than Just Shoes
At the conclusion of the program, students arranged in the perfect lines and were staring at their new shoes and made their first steps in them. It was a laughing yard and full of the excitement.
One young girl softly said,
“Varun Sir gave us these shoes. I will wear them every day to school.”
In places where resources are scare, such situations bring us back to the fact that hope is not necessarily planning to come in large amounts. Sometimes, it comes quietly, in the simple form of a new pair of shoes.
